Beekeeping - How it started

I started keeping bees in early 2022. One of my mates had been into it for a while and he got us started with some of his unused boxes and other components. It wasn't split/swarm season when I started so there were no nucs available through suppliers so I purchased an established brood box off fb marketplace. We live in Perth with limited backyard space so our bees live on another property around 3 hours drive south of us. With the range being an issue I looked to automate managing the colony.
